Hello! Contrary to popular opinion, I'm still alive and I feel fantastic, too. University has been more busy than usual, especially since I've taken the initiative and joined more extra-curricular clubs this year. Fortunately, since after this I'll be cutting the sets down to around fifty icons each, posts should be about as frequent as...normal. ("Normal" implying "often enough that my watchers don't forget I exist.")

The comm has undergone two layout changes since the last post, as well as a banner change. Please tell me what you think of them.

Also, the YKK icons in this set are all from the tutorial, the background section of which should be up...sometime this semester, i.e. before December. As I wrote before, the images are all ready, but the text isn't -- and that's the most difficult part of setting the tutorial up!

That said, please enjoy the icons!

Here's the continuation of the second part of this tutorial. Commenting is enabled here, since the end of this section can be seen as the end of a tutorial; however, the background section will be coming up in the near future. The images are all ready, but uploading them and writing out directions takes a lot of time.

Thank you for reading this far!

If you've made it this far, you deserve a gold star.Collapse )
Here is the second part of three, and by far the most image-heavy. Please enjoy!

The saga continues.Collapse )

It's been nearly two months, hasn't it? University has been taking up much more of my free time, which is ironic considering that I started working with my tablet in January of 2009--that is, in my first year of college. That aside, I've finally finished the tutorials you requested!

As we'll mainly be focusing on one scan from beginning to end, you can think of this as one very large tutorial split up into three parts. Feel free to skip any one part if you like!

Program: Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0. The brush mechanics here are more or less the same as in other versions of Photoshop; users of Paint Tool SAI, openCanvas, and Corel Painter will almost definitely have an easier time following the tutorial (and may even get better, more natural-looking results).
Difficulty: Easy to Difficult, depending on the individual sections of the tutorial, whether you use a mouse or a tablet, and your own current level of skill. I tried my best to take progress shots at every relevant step, but I'm not a particularly good teacher--please tell me if there are any gaps or unexplained spots.

Onward, to Destiny!Collapse )

Thank you very much for 159 watchers! I'm sorry for the lack of updates, but least the comm seems to be operating on a monthly basis.

Now, I have 20 icons ready for the next entry. Since I've been working more and more often with large scans instead of 100x100 bases, which I used pretty much exclusively when I started out, most of the icons are variations on one coloring--four of them, to be exact. As such, while the posts have all contained over 100 icons each, the actual content has been thinning out.

Two polls behind the cut!Collapse )

If you have any questions, feel free to comment here! Thank you again for watching.

ETA: One more thing. If you commented on the last two posts, but I didn't get back to you--thank you! LJ doesn't even give me notifications for my personal journal, let alone the icon comm, so I'm sorry if I missed you.

And so, several thousand years later, the relics of Momoism were uncovered. I'm sorry for turning "next week" into "next month," everyone.

In addition to the colored scans used for most of the icons in the last two entries, there are three requests made by grprsa, mairenn_k, and part_b, which by their generosity were made shareable. You can do whatever you want with these, provided that you a) don't claim to have made them, b) don't sell or otherwise use them for shady purposes, and c) don't put them in one of those popular new profile codes that taunt viewers with their smooth lines, pop-art colors, and pathetically little personal information.

I was planning on keeping this post on hold until the 18th (that is, after I finished all of my final papers), but I can't stand having all of these icons sit on my hard drive. As such, this is not necessarily a holiday icon post, but a taking-attention-away-from-exams post.

Also! There will definitely be a second "colored scans" entry which will consist of all of the larger images I used for both this post and the one before it. Unfortunately, compiling and preparing all of the images will take a while, so you can expect it next week if you're interested.

On to the icons!

(Note: I forgot to mention this when I first posted this icon set, but the Professor Layton icons contain spoilers for Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box).

This is the first original post for momoizumu! It was supposed to be much smaller, but somehow 32 .psd files became 106 .png files. I have no idea how that happened, trust me.

I'm planning to do some work on the Card Captor Sakura Drama CD, the final chapters and epilogue of TSUBASA RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, Tegami Bachi, and Kobato, so hopefully the next post will have some more variety.

ETA: Three more icons have been added as per chibidl's request.

As some people have requested them, here are all of the large scans that I've colored since January (i.e., when I first started making icons). You can use them for whatever purpose you like--banners, profile images, and possibly even courageous headbands. There aren't too many, since I prefer working with smaller bases, and some of them are jagged and unpleasant to the eye, but I hope you can put them to good use!

After over two months, the requests are finally finished! If there are any changes you would like me to make, or if you see any mistakes with your request, please tell me.

The icons are arranged alphabetically by the names of those who requested them, with the exception of icons no. 6 through 14 (hebba18 and laury_kos requested the same image) and icons no. 118 and 119. Note that icons no. 19, 45, 46, 54, 55, 62, 83, 84, and 99 are nonshareable; they've been marked in red. If you want your icons to be nonshareable as well, then don't hesitate to tell me! Please keep in mind that if you received a large amount of icons, some of them by necessity will have to be kept shareable (as no one should hoard icons).

On to the requests!
